Islamic State's Central Africa Province → Islamic State – Central Africa Province – This article was held back from a series of page moves executed by Amakuru after an WP:RM closed on Talk:Islamic State due to opposition from Applodion. This is very inconsistent, and consistency is one of the five article title criteria. I argued that the aim of consistency is above even the most common name found in the sources, given the existence of Islamic State – West Africa Province, which Applodion supported. The difference between an 's and an en dash (–) is not major, and the abbreviation IS–CAP already given in the article clearly points to at least some acceptance of en dashes. This page is the odd one out, the only one that isn't either Islamic State – X Province or Islamic State in X. The 's is not mandatory and doesn't appear in sources as often as it does appear, as well.[1][2][3][4]. Therefore, endorse move as nominator. Comment: While my opinion in this regard remains unchanged, as I would argue that "Islamic State's Central Africa Province" or "Islamic State Central Africa Province" areWP:COMMONNAME, I also see that the other editors consider WP:CONSISTENT as more important. Thus, I will refrain from voting oppose here and will no longer block the change. Applodion (talk) 16:48, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@GenoV84: I literally did "change the wording without deleting sourced informations". Pergaps you should have looked at my edit before reverting it. However, your change: (a) introduced POV language, (b) put a ref into the lede even though it belongs into the bibliography, (c) add capitalizations where there shouldn't be ones, (d) add unsourced stuff [Wahhabism is not mentioned in the article], (e) add excess links which were already in the article [such as the territorial claims links], (f) change the categories, even though the generic "Terrorism in Africa" is much better seeing as IS-CAP is operating in many more countries than you added. You forgot Rwanda and South Africa, for example, (g) confuse IS-DRC which is only a branch with IS-CAP which is the umbrella group. Applodion (talk) 14:03, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Several new links were also not very helpful. What kind of additional value did the link to "Geography of the Democratic Republic of the Congo" provide, for example? Applodion (talk) 14:10, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, I understood that you meant to do well, and I didn't mean to be impolite or disrespectful towards you, but I still don't see the point to completely remove a reliable source as you did in your first edit. Anyway, feel free to move the citation to the Bibliography section. GenoV84 (talk) 14:13, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@GenoV84: I would also like to say that I do not want to belittle your edits. However, your first edits changed large sections of the article for rather flimsy reasons. My first reaction was thus to revert most of the unneccessary changes and then put all the useful new stuff back into the article. I have no intention to discourage you from adding new content - in fact, more attention to these topics are useful, and being WP:BOLD is absolutely ok. However, if you are bold, you have to expect some pushback, and your first reaction being threatening me on my talk page is not exactly helpful for reaching a compromise. Applodion (talk) 14:16, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@GenoV84: I have restored several of the useful changes you made to the article, including some rewording. I have also re-added the geography link - I don't think that it is really helpful, but who knows. In regards to Wahhabism, however, there is a long-standing academic discussion about IS being Wahhabist. Some experts have argued that parts of IS are Wahhabist, but that other parts are not. So unless we have a source directly saying that IS-CAP is Wahhabist, we should not add it to the article. I also want to say sorry for being too quick in regards to reverts, and want to say that my behavior might have been rude. I'm sorry for that. Next time, please just ask me to explain my changes, and we can talk and reach a compromise. Applodion (talk) 14:28, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
