Remove album influences

[edit]

I'm going to suggest removing these entirely, because the influence section here should discuss the breadth of what they have been considered genre-wise. If people want to see what album has been described as what, then they could head to the album page.

For instance, the debut album page already cites the influences. So, why is it here? Pretty. Odd. does the exact same thing. So does Vices & Virtues. You get the point. Pretty much every album already specifically cites the influences. So, if people want to migrate some of the sources over to the other articles, by all means do so. But I'm going to remove them here and they should not be restored without good reason, because it has just created a complete mess. Maxx-♥ talk and coffee ☕ 15:09, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Fact about founding

[edit]

Upon my research, I have found that the founding men were not all childhood friends, as is stated in this article. Instead, some of the guys were, but other members were more recent acquaintances (like Brendan Urie, who met one of the guys at a guitar class) 38.27.128.66 (talk) 15:28, 13 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Can we please use pop punk on the genres section as early? They are not pop punk anymore

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Shadow311 (talk) 16:15, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Please add past member “Mike Naran” he was their guitarist 64.231.156.6 (talk) 12:37, 23 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: Mike Naran was a touring musician. Touring musicians can be found in the band members section of the article and that's where he is. If you are requesting that he be added to the infobox: touring musicians do not go in the infobox. The infobox is for official members only. Bowling is life (talk) 13:06, 23 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Info-box image change request of Panic! at the Disco article

[edit]

  • What I think should be changed (format using {{textdiff}}): I think the image in the info-box of the Panic! at the Disco Wikipedia article should be changed.

  • Why it should be changed: The image should be changed because one of the touring band members in the current image, Kenneth Harris, was dismissed from the band in 2018 due to multiple allegations of sexual misconduct involving underage fans and I do not think he represents the band very well. - see first web citation

The image should, in my opinion, just be of Brendon Urie because he was the only remaining original member and sole member of the actual band for the longest period of time and the band became what it did because of him. The band operated as his solo project from 2015 - 2023. - see second web citation I have found an image by the same photographer that also took the current image used on the site - Jennifer Linnea Photography. Commercial use of it is also allowed. - see third web citation

Not done: I strongly disagree that we should cut out the rest of the band members from the main photo on the page. Photos solely of Urie can go in his article, but this article is about the full band. Even if, for a period in the band's history, it was a solo project, the other members are still very much worth picturing. Bsoyka (tcg) 13:18, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, i agree! Although, maybe there is a picture out there that is free to use for the article without Kenneth. So, one of Brendon, Nicole Row, Dan Pawlovich and Mike Naran who replaced Harris. However, I could not find an image of those four together labeled under "commercial use allowed" so that is why I suggested it be just Urie. Spideyfan2000 (talk) 13:28, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
