Center, color
[edit]I keep changing these to 'centre' and 'colour' because we do not speak American, and if you want a reference then look at the main English-language paper in Thailand, The Bangkok Post. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.9.188.194 (talk) 21:43, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
- Wikipedia has a policy that the English variant in which an article is written isn't changed for another unless it is to the variant which is spoken in the country to which the article subject belongs. People in Thailand speak Thai, not English. The article should therefore be kept in the English variant in which it was originally written. - Takeaway (talk) 21:52, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

[edit]I'll try to explain as simply as possible.
The image to the right shows approximately this location (Google Maps link). If one looks at the map, s/he will find that the road there is labelled Ratchadamri, Not Si Lom. The area is Pathum Wan District, not Bang Rak, where Si Lom is. The buildings in the background are King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, not skyscrapers on Si Lom Road.
I hope I have established that this image is inappropriate for use in this article, though, of course, it could find proper use elsewhere. Thank you. --Paul_012 (talk) 15:53, 30 August 2013 (UTC)
For the sake of reliable sourcing, please refer to this map by the BMA City Planning Department. The area of Si Lom Subdistrict is highlighted in yellow here. Si Lom Road is highlighted in red. The approximate location shown in the photo is marked with the blue X. --Paul_012 (talk) 09:31, 31 August 2013 (UTC)
- You are misleading in your assertions. That is the corner of the Skytrain station, and the Sky train had JUST turned it. The map you display is in Thai, and while the Thai people feel that this is Silom, you seem to know better and have now reverted my edit for the third time. (3RR). You have already admitted that you have done the majority of work on pages related to Thailand assuming ownership of them and you continue to revert in spite of the fact that the prior image of the Sky Train, that was on the page could have been anywhere in Bangkok. I simply don't have time for your petty control issues. --WPPilot 13:17, 31 August 2013 (UTC)
- Please discuss the edit rather than attack other contributors' supposed motivations. Please also look at the page history to see that it was Takeaway who removed the image the last time. Surely you don't plan to accuse him of being a sockpuppet of mine? As I noted earlier, I appreciate your contributions, and would gladly support their use where proper. There are plenty of other articles which could use additional or better photographs. --Paul_012 (talk) 14:41, 31 August 2013 (UTC)
- As Paul 012 mentioned above, the photo really shows the beginning of Rachadamri road, at its intersection with Rama 4. Silom road can not be seen on this photo. - Takeaway (talk) 15:01, 31 August 2013 (UTC)
- I agree on the removal of this pic. SeeingMole (talk) 13:37, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
