The Madison Washington, D.C. → The Madison Hotel – The article's prose suggests the hotel is currently known as The Madison Hotel, per Marriott's website (not secondary coverage). This hotel has had several different names, so I'm not opposed to something more generic like Madison Hotel (Washington, D.C.) -- thoughts? --Another Believer (Talk) 18:58, 30 March 2022 (UTC)— Relisting. Spekkios (talk) 19:13, 7 April 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose, insufficient disambiguation with Madison Hotel (Atlantic City) and Madison Hotel (Memphis, Tennessee). 162 etc. (talk) 22:34, 30 March 2022 (UTC)
- @162 etc. Thoughts on Madison Hotel (Washington, D.C.) (over the current title)? ---Another Believer (Talk) 23:30, 30 March 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, that's probably best. 162 etc. (talk) 23:42, 30 March 2022 (UTC)
- I'm the one who has been updating the page a lot recently. The current website is a holding page, while the hotel transitions within the various brands of Marriott. The code for the hotel within the actual web address - WASMM - suggests it will become a Le Meridien hotel within Marriott at some point soon. Hotels often have temporary names when they switch chains, until they renovate to meet brand standards for an individual brand. Let's wait a bit to see what name the hotel lands on, I don't think The Madison Hotel is actually going to be the permanent name. jamesluckard (talk) 06:18, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
- @Jamesluckard Would you say Madison Hotel (Washington, D.C.) is more appropriate than the current title, in the meantime? ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:14, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
- If anything, I might say The Madison Hotel (Washington, D.C.) could be best. The definite article is part of the name right now, and has been for many years. However, the hotel was added to the "Destinations" page on the Le Meridnen website within marriott.com today, under the pulldown tab for DC. I suspect Marriott will rename it within a few days, and it will likely become Le Meridien Madison Washington or something similar. I'm sure there will be a pres release from Marriott in a day or two, which will likely list the new name. I recommend we wait until Monday. jamesluckard (talk) 19:38, 31 March 2022 (UTC)

- Move to Madison Hotel (Washington, D.C.) per WP:THE, since the definite article is often lowercased. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:09, 13 April 2022 (UTC)
