I assume you've noticed by now that the species is Gyps bengalensis, not bangalensis; and that redirect already exists :) In any case, to create a new redirect (or article), please don't move your user or talk page into article space - either create a draft, then move that; or (especially for redirects) just create it directly in article space. Calliphlox/Nesophlox
[edit]AidenD…..thanks for your help with bird taxonomy. A couple of thoughts...birdproject uses the IOC (International Ornithological Congress) for taxonomy and English names, not the AOC. So I reverted the Bahama and Inagua woodstars because the IOC hasn't made those changes yet. I did leave the Leiothlypis warblers because the IOC made those changes a while ago, but we weren't using the IOC yet for taxonomy, so the changes were never made, so it was a good thing that you did those.....you'll also notice i changed the iucn refs since they use Leiothlypis. The other thing, species taxonomy stays with the original namer, even if the genus changes, so I changed them back. To add to the confusion, country bird lists use Clements as a reference. I know its confusing. Holler if you have questions...i look forward to seeing more edits from you...…Pvmoutside (talk) 23:08, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Nesophlox
[edit]A tag has been placed on Category:Nesophlox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Talk! 04:32, 28 June 2019 (UTC)

I have sent you a note about a page you started
[edit]Hello, AidenD
Thank you for creating Enchino manzano.
User:Originalmess, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:
Hi, when making redirects it would be very helpful to make sure the redirect is in the target article. However, it looks like there are no related results for "enchino manzano" in general, and results for "encino manzano" lead to Quercus eduardii instead of Quercus aristata. Could you please clarify this? Thanks!

{{Re|Originalmess}}
I was using the IUCN Red List's naming scheme, which listed it here: https://www.iucnredlist.org/species/78805056/78805070 Encino was a typo, but I was just citing another source. {code|~~~~}}
- Hi, so when you reply, you'll want to reply after my own signature, and you don't have to use the code|nowiki tags - those make it so the code inside the tags don't work! You can just sign with four tildes from your keyboard. It's a plausible typo so I'll review it, and hmm, I'm not sure why that didn't come up during the search. Thanks for the response! originalmessbusta rhyme 04:38, 9 November 2019 (UTC)

[edit]IUCN status
[edit]Hi Aiden: Nice work with your IUCN updates! One problem though: I wasn't sure if you were aware of Wikipedia's manual of style consensus on the capitalisation of the IUCN status, which was that such terms should not be capitalised. Here is the relevant bit (available on this page):
Direct quotation should not be used to preserve the formatting preferred by an external publisher (especially when the material would otherwise be unchanged), as this tends to have the effect of "scare-quoting":
- Acceptable: The animal is listed as endangered on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
- Unacceptable: The animal is listed as "Endangered" on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
Italics can be used to mark a particular usage as a term of art (a case of "words as words"), especially when it is unfamiliar or should not be reworded by a non-expert:
- Permissible: The animal is listed as critically endangered on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
Can you please modify your updates from here on out to conform with this? Feel free to ping me if you have any questions. MeegsC (talk) 10:41, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
