User talk:Kate at Juddmonte
Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Juddmonte, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Juddmonte Farms, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Hi David. Thank you for your messages. I am Kate and I work in Marketing for Juddmonte - and am a Wikipedia novice! Please rest assured any changes I make/made are only updates to existing information or corrections (e.g. staff members names), in order to keep the page accurate. I do have one question - can we rename the page Juddmonte (instead of Juddmonte Farms) as that is the name we are now known as? Many thanks< Kate
- @Juddmonte: Hello! Renaming the page would require you to request a page move. To do so, place the following template on the talk page of the page you wish to move:
{{subst:requested move|The new name for the page|reason=Place here your rationale for the proposed page name change, ideally referring to applicable naming convention policies and guidelines, and providing evidence in support where appropriate. If your reasoning includes search engine results, please prioritize searches limited to reliable sources (e.g. books, news, scholarly papers) over other web results. You don't need to add your signature at the end, as this template will do so automatically.}}
- Please note that you will need to cite any relevant policies and guidelines to support this change. Specifically, you should review the policy on article titles. However, please keep in mind the following quote from the aforementioned policy:
Wikipedia does not necessarily use the subject's "official" name as an article title; it generally prefers the name that is most commonly used (as determined by its prevalence in a significant majority of independent, reliable English-language sources)
- I would highly recommend following the instructions below to change your username as well as leaving a message on your user page that states your conflict of interest before requesting a move as described above. HouseBlastertalk 15:55, 22 February 2021 (UTC)
- Edited at 15:58, 22 February 2021 (UTC): Please also see this policy on companies, which concerns promotion on Wikipedia, a subsection from the page what Wikipedia is not. HouseBlastertalk
Your username
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Juddmonte Farms, and I noticed that your username, "Juddmonte", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".
Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 21:45, 19 February 2021 (UTC)

Am I ok using this name to make updates to the Juddmonte page without violating any rules? How can we get the warning notices removed at the top of the Juddmonte page? Thanks.
- You will need to first comply with the paid editing policy and make a formal declaration. You should then make a formal edit request(click for instructions) on the article talk page, Talk:Juddmonte Farms, detailing changes you feel are needed along with any independent reliable sources to support them. Please understand that Wikipedia is primarily interested in what independent reliable sources completely unconnected with your employer have chosen on their own to say about it. That does sometimes mean that information on Wikipedia is behind the curve from up to the minute current information, but your employer is free to use social media and its own website to tell the world up to the minute information about itself. 331dot (talk) 14:19, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
