WALL-E article

Hello. I had expanded the acronym for WALL-E in the WALL-E article on the head of the article as I thought it was too far below. But you reverted out my edit without discussion with the explanation basically that it was okay where it was. Hmm. You might be right. Take care and best wishes. --- (Bob) Wikiklrsc (talk) 22:51, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

I apologise if it seemed careless of me to revert without discussion. I think we conversed about this awhile ago; it should be on the talk page. I just thought that the specific details (such as what his name means) should go somewhere below in the article, namely the cast section. Feel free to re-revert if you think it's better in the lede! Cheers. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 23:01, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

No problem, really. In balance and reflection, I think you were right on the edit. I simply had thought it might be better to say in the article's opening just what WALL-E stood for as an acronym since many people these days don't really read an article all the way down or fully due to short attention spans ! We'll work it out. I might add WALL-E was an excellent film/animation fable. Kind of a modern morality play or cautionary tale to adults, too. ;) Best wishes and many thanks for your note. Cheers ! --- (Bob) Wikiklrsc (talk) 18:34, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for understanding! I rather enjoyed the film too. ;-) —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 18:39, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Hi Lucille. Excellent. Oh, as an old musician myself, wasn't "Lucille" what the blues musician, B.B. King, called his guitar ? ;) Brilliant. Have a wonderful holiday. Cheers. --- (Bob) Wikiklrsc (talk) 18:49, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Hah, I didn't know that! Thanks, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 18:51, 9 August 2008 (UTC).

Ah ! I thought I might as well mention that I was just recently invited to a pre-screening of the animated 3-D film, Fly Me to the Moon and wore special 3-D glasses. It was really compelling in its own genre. The children were grasping in front of their faces at things which seemed to be coming out from the screen at them ! Then again, so were the adults. ;) The plot and sub-plot was quite satisfyingly charming. Bests. --- (Bob) Wikiklrsc (talk) 19:53, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Heh. Sounds like it would've been interesting to see! :-) Cheers, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 19:55, 9 August 2008 (UTC).

Hello, I added a paragraph to the commentary section of the wall-e article yesterday and you immediately removed it without comment. I thought the quote added something valuable that had been neglected regarding the interpretation of the movie. Could you elaborate on why you deleted my contribution? Stevotower (talk) 02:53, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Hi, Stevotower. I have reverted your edit to WALL-E because although it looked like your were trying to help out (in other words, it wasn't deliberate vandalism), the information your inserted was unencyclopaedic. It did not belong in the article, as not all viewpoints of the film need be included, and this one was not particularly important in my opinion. If you feel very strongly that it belongs, please feel free to bring it up at the talk page to see what the rest of us think. Cheers! —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 03:52, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Ok...I guess I was just observing that the section seemed to be specifically for that kind of content and what I included, to my mind at least, pointed out a very important level of meaning of the story of Wall-E that was not otherwise covered. At least an explanation of your reason for reversion in the edit summary would have been a nice courtesy. The impression I came away with was that Wall-e is your article and if you don't like the way it changes, you just put it back. Anyway, you've placed a significant hurdle against contribution. I've lost interest. Stevotower (talk) 18:39, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Stevetower, I'm very sorry that I've stifled your desire to participate in the editing. I really need to work on being extra informative in my edit summaries and start posting comments as I truly don't mean to offend, and I by no means own the WALL-E article. Please feel free to edit to your heart's content, Stevotower (while keeping things like WP:NOT in mind of course)! :-) Apologies, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 03:35, 4 September 2008 (UTC).

To Mizu

Ok, I'm trying to start a page and etc, so I deleted a few stuff, like messages, plus how do you know, are you watching my every move and how do I get to make a page like, I'm 15 and I don't really know that much stuff aroud here. Regards!!

Attacking? Dude I wasn't attacking anyone and I am really starting to think you are a wikipedia fiend who does nothing with his life except Wikipedia because you are watching my every move, every post, and etc, so please back off and just worry about yourself. Cheers!!

P.S. I can blank my page if I want to because its MY DISSCUSSION PAGE, NOT YOURS!!!

First, please remember to sign your posts with four tildes. Second, you were attacking, and I have this diff as evidence: [1]; You are also attacking me in a similar fashion when you said "you are a wikipedia fiend who does nothing with his life except wikipedia". Third, you can't blank you page because it is considered disruptive to remove warnings from your page. "Your" user talk page is not yours. If you do not stop very soon, I will bring you to the attention of the administrators' noticeboard. Regards, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 19:09, 9 August 2008 (UTC).

If you threaten me again, I'll have you blocked since I know how to now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by WikiLight14 (talkcontribs) 19:16, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Only administrators can block users, and you are not an admin. I am taking this to ANI because you have not stopped trolling. Regards, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 19:20, 9 August 2008 (UTC).

I know, I have a friend who is an Admin, and I told him you keep threatning me, so I'll get him to or Ill take this to an admin, so they can see that I have done nothing wrong, and that you keep bothering me and threatning me. Later. --WikiLight14 (talk) 19:27, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

I have done nothing wrong here, WikiLight. Please remain calm, assume good faith and stop personally attacking. I have created a thread regarding your disruption at WP:ANI. Feel free to comment there, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 19:30, 9 August 2008 (UTC).

I have done nothing wrong to you Sempai and also I reported you to the admins and explained my side. I have not attacked you and the only thing I told you to do is to leave me alone. Heck, I didn't even change Wall E anymore. Later! --WikiLight14 (talk) 19:45, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

I have frequently explained to you why you have been disruptive. Saying "F you" on someone's talk page is not very nice. I have welcomed you, helped you out, and even provided you with advice, and instead you come to my talk page and harrass Alientraveller and I. This is clearly disruptive. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 19:50, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

A Wiki Question

Why does everybody end their messages with "Cheers!"? It seems like everyone does that.

L337*P4wn 06:16, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

Ha ha. I don't know, I suppose it's just a WikiTradition! I picked it up early on in my editing, and everyone seems to be doing it now! Cheers, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 06:20, 10 August 2008 (UTC).

Har Har. Oh! Also...

How was your flight? Good I presume?

L337*P4wn 06:29, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

Eh. I hadn't flown in a long time, so it was a little unpleasant (ears ringing constantly!) but it got better. I'm in Rochester now, pretty nice, but nothing like NYC. Cheers. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 06:33, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Definitely. NYC is my hometown and New England is just not the same. No 24/7 life, for better or for worse. ;) Enjoy. (Of course, now I won't sign off with "cheers" ! After all it's just a bar in Boston. ;)) --- (Bob) Wikiklrsc (talk) 17:56, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Wow! I was born in Brooklyn, but I actually spent most of my childhood in upstate/the exurbs. It's a lot different. Not as scary, though. :-) —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 17:59, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Hi Lucille. Well, as a typical Manhattan-ite, born and bred, I melt in the burbs. Especially when I lived in Southern California which was all burbs in search of a city. Brooklyn is cool and interesting. Especially the ancient Egyptian section of the Brooklyn Museum. And the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. The more remote parts of Brooklyn are intangible emotionally to me. I need those late night wee hours bookstores and rock and jazz clubs and coffee klotches. Although that's fading now. ;) Bests. --- (Bob) Wikiklrsc (talk) 18:57, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Ha. Yes, upstate and the big city are so much different. I actually prefer NYC, now that you mention it. Manhattan's very exciting, of course, all the theatres are there after all! —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 19:01, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Excellent. There used to be more theatres, but that world is contracting into mega-shoebox movie theatres, and extraordinarily pricey Broadway show theatres. There's still repertory theatre which is still affordable and does classics. But most of the arts and Art have gone corporate. Have a look at PBS. Yikes ! GM and Mr. Rogers shouldn't go hand-in-hand. Especally since the late Fred Rogers used to be a network television producer and gave it up for PBS helping and teaching children as his literal ministry. Well, it's about to rain here in Boston. :( Best Wishes. --- (Bob) Wikiklrsc (talk) 19:14, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Wow! (More stuff I actually didn't know before.) —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 19:18, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Cool. :) Hey Lu. It must have to do with being around for millenia. ;) Oh, I did see "Hook" for the first time in my life in a theatre last evening, and I hadn't thought about Peter Pan since I saw it when I was a kid, like when Fred Flintstone roamed the earth ( ;) ), and I was impressed with the film. Robin Williams was more subdued than his usually funny hyperactive self, and succeeded in delivering some tongue-in-cheek lines. Nice Disney production. Of course, like WALL-E, or "Fly Me to the Moon" (you must see this when it comes out), I remembered how much of an adult morality play and cautionary tale it was. And also like Dickens wrote, we should always aspire to keep the child in us alive. Then there's "Pineapple Express" which I saw in pre-screenings recently ... where the message is a little elusive ... but it seems to be taking off ... ;) ... Cheers ? Bests. --- (Bob) Wikiklrsc (talk) 20:05, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

Actually, I'm planning on seeing Pineapple next friday. What? It sounded interesting! :P —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 20:08, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

Cool ! Everyone, including the reviewers at the pre-screening I went to, liked Pineapple and laughed a lot. It's almost a physical comedy, a bit silly, a bit dopey, but good belly laughs. And everyone needs some good belly laughs these days. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Kind of a more Tarantino-ised belly laugh than was "Step Brothers". Both were funny. Now American Teen was quite a horse of a different colour ... but still poignant. Whereas the pre-screening of "Man on Wire" was astounding. We must stop meeting like this. ;) ;) ;) Bests. --- (Bob) Wikiklrsc (talk) 20:20, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Oh, from what I've heard it will be extremely dopey... Lol, take care WikiIrsc! —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 20:25, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
*Big smile* Yes, it was. Must have been well-reviewed by High Times too. I do enjoy your conversation although I don't know if Jimbo Wales had that in mind when he founded WP. Oh and "Mizu onna sango" ... ?? Japanese film ? Like "WOMAN OF WATER / MIZU NO ONNA" by Sugimori Hidenori, Japan 2001 ? We're having near monsoons here in New England today. :( Best Wishes. Take care for now, Lu. I'm Bob. --- Wikiklrsc (talk) 20:40, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

My RfA

Yeah, I know, I didn't think it had a snowball's chance of passing so I pulled the plug. I really need to step away from afd. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshellsOtter chirpsHELP) 17:39, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

I don't know, maybe you just have to be a little less of a hard deletionist. That, among other things, mainly accounted for the opposes. You don't have to be an inclusionist, but don't be so willing to throw out pages with good potential! Cheers, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 17:42, 10 August 2008 (UTC).

Re FA

Hi Mizu - it looks like our summer breaks have overlapped ;) I'm now pretty much back on the job though, so if you want to drop me a note when you're ready, we can nominate Sweeney for his FA... (kick me too, I still haven't fix those cites!) EyeSerenetalk 08:36, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

Ok, ES. ;-) No problemo. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 14:56, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
I've finally gone through and double-checked the refs! I think the PR is a good idea - the FA crowd like to see it's been done, and it might pick up stuff we've missed. I hope to get the time to give the prose another go over soon too. EyeSerenetalk 11:04, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

Thankyou

Just a little note to say thankyou for participating in my successful RFA candidacy, which passed with 96 supports, 0 opposes, and 1 neutral. Sorry, I don't know what you mean when you say I 'flagged one of [your] talk pages'. Cheers, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 03:50, 13 August 2008 (UTC).
Hi. I think I might know what you are talking about now. You recently made an edit to Talk:Danity Kane which appeared to be vandalism and I warned you for it. Just to let you know, talk pages are not forums for general discussion about the article's subject, nor are they the venue to converse about unpublished theories of the subject allegedly 'taking over the world'. I think you misunderstand the purpose of talk pages, see WP:TALKPAGE for more information. Hope this helps, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 04:03, 13 August 2008 (UTC).

How are you doing ? I went to a studio pre-screening last night of the new Star Wars animation: Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Nicely done. Best Wishes. --- (Bob) Wikiklrsc (talk) 14:46, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

Dear Lucille, I am contacting you because you signed up as a volunteer to do peer reviews (and you seem to be an interesting person from your user page!) I have worked on the article Roman Catholic Church with another editor trying to bring it up to FA status and I have just requested a peer review after making several additions and deletions to the last FAC nomination. Hey there

Shwmai Mizu-san! (Heh, you won't often see Welsh and Japanese in the same sentence) Hope all's well with you. I'm just checking up on the situation with Mr Todd - it looks like there are a few PR comments that might need addressing, but I've been sidetracked recently with other copyedits. Your article is a prior committment though, so I'll make time if you want to have another crack at a final polish before FA. Do you have any particular nomination deadline in mind? Motto of the day

Hello, I notice you're using one of the {{motd}} templates, run by Wikipedia:Motto of the day. You may have noticed that some of the mottos recently have been followed by a date from 2006, or on occasion simply "Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia". The reason for this is that Motto of the day is in some very serious need of help. Participation in the project, which has never been especially high, has dropped considerably over this past summer, to the point we have had several days where no motto was scheduled to appear at all. Over the past several weeks, I've been the only editor scheduling mottos at all, but there aren't enough comments on some of these mottos to justify their use. If we do not get some help - and soon - your daily mottos will stop. In order for us to continue updating these templates for you, we need your help.

When you get a chance between your normal editing, could you stop by our nominations page and leave a few comments on some of the mottos there, especially those that do not have any comments yet? This works very simply; you read a motto, decide whether or not you like it, and post your opinion just below the motto. That's it - no experience required, just an idea of what you personally like and what you feel reflects Wikipedia and its community. If you do have past experience with the project, then please close some of the older nominations once they've got a decent consensus going. There are directions on the nominations page on how to do this.

If you have any questions, please let me know, or post on the project's talk page. I'm looking forward to reading your comments on the suggested mottos, and any additional suggestions you'd like to make. Until then, happy editing! Hersfold (t/a/c) 02:34, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

A page I think is of socio-historic importance

Greetings! I've seen your name on RFAs amongst others before but now I've come across it on the PR volunteer page. You sound like a mermaid with a name alluding to water, women, and coral. I looked up your contributions and, noticing "Mommie Dearest", I decided to ham-fistedly link it to "Mommie Beerest", a page I've worked on. I'm trying to get your attention so that you might do me the favour of reviewing Wikipedia:Peer_review/United_Nations_list_of_Non-Self-Governing_Territories/archive1 . Do feel free to revert me. :)--Thecurran (talk) 13:55, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Igor and musicals

Since you're a huge aficionado of Broadway musicals, you should see the animated film coming out soon (September 19th, I think) of which I went to a pre-screening today. It's called "Igor". It's tongue-in-cheek about Broadway musicals and actresses and people acting. It's hardly a children's animation on many levels. Wikiklrsc (talk) 20:05, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
