Your RfA again
Thanks for the replies to my questions, I have one more (and probably final) question for you on the RfA, thanks for being prompt. --Banime (talk) 12:08, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you. I'll get right to answering them. Cheers, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 17:02, 18 November 2008 (UTC).
- Thanks, I switched back to support after your answers and my further investigation. I outlined my perceived fears in my support !vote, so do me a favor and read it and keep it in mind when you're an admin. Good luck. --Banime (talk) 20:19, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
I'm just dropping by to say congratulations on your so-far successful RfA! I'm really glad that it's going great and I felt bad because I was out of town for your last one (and I had offered a co-nom nonetheless). I'll be glad to work with you as a future administrator! Cheers, Malinaccier (talk) 00:15, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, Malinaccier. And don't worry about the last one—as it wasn't very successful it hardly matters. :-) I'm just happy to join the ranks of you admins and can't wait to get started. Cheers, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 00:20, 23 November 2008 (UTC).
I'm So Happy!
I'm literally proud of you! I just know you're gonna' win the RfA. Then you can get rid of vandalism at a MUUUCCCHHH faster rate. :D
Early Congratulations, L337*P4wn 00:27, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
- Much appreciated, L337. Although I'm still a little nervous, I think it'll go smoothly. Thanks so much for the cheering! —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 01:19, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
Question about Wikipedia:Rfa
I don't get it. If somebody has the most supports but 2 oposses and everybody else has 1 oppose then why would everybody else be in the lead? Reliable♪ Forevertalk 01:27, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not sure I understand your question. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 03:00, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
- Hi RF! If you're wondering why Mizu's RfA has dropped to the bottom of the list on WP:RFA, it's only because they are listed in date order. Newer RfAs go at the top, and Mizu's is the oldest on the list. EyeSerenetalk 08:18, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
Thankspam
Don't make yourself thankspam templates! I will make one for you, and you will love it. Consider it a present from one Alaskan administrator to the next. What's your favorite color? L'Aquatique[talk] 07:16, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, L'Aquatique. :-) My favorite colors are on the bluish/greenish part of the color spectrum, but I'm pretty open-minded, so it hardly matters to me. Cheers! —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 17:03, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
- Well, unless you do something horrendously stupid in the next couple of days, I think we're nearly home. We would, of course, have been happy to help with a thankspam message, but I'm glad to see you've got it covered (and yes, starting off slowly is a very good idea... and I like the new sig!) EyeSerenetalk 08:11, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
- Indeed, you can be certain I won't delete the Main Page... Because I don't have the tools yet. ;-) But if I did, I would love to follow in Ryan's footsteps and be the next admin to damage a massive part of Wikipedia property. I'm laughing with you, not at you Ryan. Really!

Needed, An Quick Edit of Fast fashion
Needed, an editor to look over the formatting and content of Fast fashion. The article is currently in its primary stages of developement right now, and was developed from a very brief stub. Any suggestions, help, or questions are welcome!!! Help needed as soon as possible. Thanks
Smeast08Smeast08 (talk) 18:16, 21 November 2008 (UTC) 12:15 21 Novemeber 2008
- Wow, you know, considering it came from just a stub, it's quite excellent. Although I'm sure (I don't really dabble in the area much, but I've seen the candidates at WP:FAC and it's a bit tough) it has some work needed until it's FA ready, at this point it is of rather decent quality and I think you did a very nice job on it. It all looks good to me. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 02:11, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
Citation Needed Day!
Hey! Today's Citation Needed Day [citation needed] Put atleast one [citation needed] on something that's not true in an article! Be sure to spread the good word. Reliable♪ Forevertalk 20:50, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
- Alright, I'll give it a try. In practice, though, you should always date your templates (using the text subst:dated| between the first two brackets and the template name) when called for, although bots usually do this for you. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 01:51, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
Request for copyedit
Hi. I am currently trying to get Richard Mohun through the WP:GAN process but some issues have been brought up with the prose and it was recommended that I request that some copyeditors take a look at it (see the article's talk page). I noticed you are listed at WP:PRV in this category and wondered if you would be able to take a look at it? Many thanks for any help you can offer - Dumelow (talk) 16:08, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
- If possible, I think there should be a good image at the head of the article, so if you can't find one for it you could take the image under the first heading and use that in the lede. Just a suggestion, though. Also, there are a lot of red links in the article; I can understand it the subjects are rather difficult to find reliable sources on, though. Other than that, it's really okay formatting-wise—I'll check for the prose as soon as I can. Thanks! —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 22:14, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for taking a look. That is the only image of Mohun I have been able to find so I will move that one to the infobox, adjacent to the lead. Turning those red links blue is something I am working on. Thanks again for looking at this - Dumelow (talk) 22:43, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
- No worries. And really, the prose is not bad. The criteria at GAN are pretty strict, I'll admit: I'm still working on my first FA! Happy Holidays, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 22:45, 22 November 2008 (UTC).
- Thanks for that. I recently got my first FA with the Anglo-Zanzibar War (the writing of which led me to Mohun) which I was very happy with. There's nothing better than to see that little star at the top of an article you have worked hard on! - Dumelow (talk) 23:03, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
- Much agreed on that! —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 23:05, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

Shockwave
I have an account at shockwave.com . It is a site to download games on. My favorite games are Cake Mania (just the first one), Aveyond (That includes Ahriman's Prophecy and Aveyond 2), Diner Dash, Westward, and Nanny Mania. My favorite genres of games are usually :
1.Action/Arcade
2.Adventure
3.Strategy
I hate puzzle games and games where you have a certain amount of time to find certain objects in a scene (those are boring and I usually only complete HALF of the list and then time runs out). Just think if there was a game like that but it would threaten you to look harder (yikes i wouldn't play that KIND of game). Well if you don't want to download any games, you can play them online and if you just don't want to well you don't have to just telling you about it. Reliable♪ Forevertalk 20:36, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

This diff's edit summary
Um... does that mean that it wasn't you I talked to back then? -- Mentisock 14:06, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
- (Sniff) No. For about a month or so, during my first few editing months when I'd leave my account logged in indefinitely, it was compromised (I suspect from my roomate's friends). When I checked the edit history, I was surprised they didn't vandalise at all, but I later found that they were more interested in impersonation (a few of them were Wikipedia users who were blocked indefinitely). It's very odd.
- But, thanks for the congratulations, and nice to meet you! :-) Regretfully, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 18:33, 23 November 2008 (UTC).
Beat the 'crats!
Congratulations on your successful RfA! –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 15:20, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
- Not to take anything away from your fun :), but there are only two ways to beat everyone to congratulating users: cut and paste a congratulations message, use a template, etc, or hold all edits and do them at once. The former I don't do because I feel every new admin deserves a personal message and the latter risks spending a lot of time reviewing an RfA and setting it up to close only to have it closed before you're done. But again don't mind the wet blanket, carry on the party! - Taxman Talk 15:42, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

- Not wanting to criticize you already, but you should really read all policies before venturing into a certain area, e.g. WP:PROTECT here. We don't usually protect pages with only one vandal edit every few days and we usually don't start at a month of protection on the first time. Just a note to say: Tread carefully in that area as it interferes with one of the most important foundation issues, i.e. the right for anyone to edit. See also Wikipedia:Rough guide to semi-protection. If you need any assistance in that area, feel free to ask me, RFPP is one of my "hobbies" ;-) Regards SoWhy 22:28, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

- No, I think you misunderstand. L'Aquatique didn't do that, she just gave you the thankspam message! As for you signature, it's because of poor character rendering (see mojibake). You use a special character in your username, ♪, and it isn't always rendered properly on Wikipedia for whatever reason. So, if you don't like the question marks that may appear from time to time, you'll just have to change your signature altogether. Hope that helped. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 00:03, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

Hi Mizu, you recently closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Horace Mann Middle School as delete. I listed disambiguation as an alternative way to deletion. Is it okay if I create a disambiguation page at Horace Mann Middle School? By the way, congratulations for passing your RFA! Cunard (talk) 04:28, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the congratulations! By the way, I'm glad you asked. I intended to add a disambiguation page (or a redirect, it was a tie), but I feared it would come off as COI-ish, because I closed the AfD myself. At any rate, please do! As there were two !votes for redirecting it and two for the dab page, it would be unjust for me to have closed it as anything but simply delete. Thanks for understanding, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 04:35, 25 November 2008 (UTC).
- Thank you for clarifying your deletion rationale. I've created the dab. By the way, AfD is not a vote. You, as the closing admin, can create the dab page if you see consensus in the discussion to do so. The first !votes were ignorant of the alternatives to deletion/redirecting. Remember to gauge the consensus not the votes. Also, you wouldn't have a COI because as the closing admin, your duty is to make an impartial decision based on the strengths of the different arguments and then close the discussion (as keep, delete, merge, redirect, replace with dab, or transwiki) according to what the best arguments are. Just some friendly advice. Cheers, Cunard (talk) 05:22, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
- Cunard is correct. Delete with redirect embodies everything those !voting "delete" wanted. As Cunard points out, it's not a vote, so you have to judge what the general consensus accepts. For example if some people advocate "delete" and a few advocate "merge", you can still close it as "merge" because that will lead to the article being deleted (or maybe redirected) yet the information is not lost, thus satifying both sides. ;-)
- On a more general note, if you fear that someone might suspect COI on your part, you might want to just walk away from an AfD and let someone else handle it, at least while you are still new to "the job". Regards SoWhy 09:14, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the input, I definitely agree (just trying to be extra cautious these first few weeks). Cheers. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 16:11, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

VINAY KUMAR GUPTA
VINAY KUMAR GUPTA - If i can know the exact reason of deletion ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vinay.gupta.g (talk • contribs) 07:16, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
- Yes. Your article was deleted because it didn't mention why Vinay Kumar Gupta is notable at all. This meets a criterion for speedy deletion, so it warranted deletion. Additionally, your username is very similar to the article's title, showing a Conflict of Interest. If you would like a copy of the article I can give you one, but I don't think the article will be back on Wikipedia. Thanks, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 16:10, 25 November 2008 (UTC).

Protecting articles
When you protect articles, you forget to add the {{pp-semi-protected}} template at the top at the page. Just thought I'd bring this to your attention. DiverseMentality 05:18, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
- Is this really done with every article, though? I was told that it wasn't always necessary, but I'll certainly do it now that you mentioned it. My apologies, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 05:21, 27 November 2008 (UTC).

Michelle Obama protection
Please take another look - the semiprotection expired and we need it to be reinstated, long-term. Thanks. Tvoz/talk 05:23, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
- Maybe it's just me but the tab says "unprotect" rather than "protect", and when I click on the tab, the logs at the bottom of the page indicate that the article is indefinitely protected—and still is. When I attempt to unprotect, it again indicates that it is currently protected. I've even logged out and tried editing via my IP address; nothing. Sorry, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 05:29, 27 November 2008 (UTC).
- Take a look at the edit history, please, since November 12 when the log says it expired, and see the multitude of IPs that have been vandalizing it. I don't know about tabs - I'm not an admin - but when I click on edit it does not say that it is protected in the way that all other semi-protected pages do - and when I log out and try to edit, I can do so. The page does not appear to be protected. Maybe because you're an admin it looks different, but trust me, IPs are editing away. You sure you're looking at Michelle? Thanks..... Tvoz/talk 05:42, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
Sorry for butting in, but if I'm not mistaken, the indefinite protection is for page-move vandalism. DiverseMentality 05:44, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
