Vishal Devrukhkar is an Indian film director known for his work in the Marathi cinema industry. He gained recognition for directing the hit film Boyz (film) (2017), which led to multiple sequels and established him as a successful director in the Marathi film industry.[1]
Career
[edit]Devrukhkar made his directorial debut with the film Boyz in 2017, which focused on the coming-of-age journey of a group of boys. The film was a commercial success and resonated with the youth, prompting Devrukhkar to direct its sequels, Boyz 2 (2018) and Boyz 3 (2022).[2] He also revealed plans for further sequels in the Boyz franchise, highlighting the continued popularity of the series.[3]
In 2019, Devrukhkar directed Girlz, a film centered on female friendships and empowerment, which was appreciated for its fresh perspective.[4][5]
His next film, Bohada, was announced in 2024, exploring traditional themes in Marathi culture.[6] The film is anticipated to be a cultural depiction of rural Maharashtra, adding variety to his directorial portfolio.
