Welcome to the Soviet and post-Soviet cinema task force of WikiProject Films! This is a joint task force run between WikiProject Films and the relevant national WikiProjects (WikiProject Soviet Union, WikiProject Russia, WikiProject Armenia, WikiProject Azerbaijan, WikiProject Belarus, WikiProject Georgia, WikiProject Kazakhstan, WikiProject Kyrgyzstan, WikiProject Moldova, WikiProject Tajikistan, WikiProject Turkmenistan, WikiProject Ukraine, and WikiProject Uzbekistan).
Scope
[edit]Soviet and post-Soviet cinema may include not only domestic films, but also films made by Soviet and post-Soviet filmmakers outside of the country, films produced or co-produced by Soviet and post-Soviet companies, and foreign films shooting within the Soviet Union and its successor states. (It also may include any films made by similar association prior to the Soviet Union, as the task force name was chosen for succinctness over comprehensiveness.) However per Wikipedia:WikiProject Film#Scope, this task force should not include articles about actors, directors and filmmakers. Those articles are covered by adding parameters for the Actors and Filmmakers and Screenwriters projects accordingly.

Pro-level RU, FR, EN, I try to preserve what's disappearing on the Russian side (including RU Wikipedia), like festivals, historically-significant cinemas… does this interest anyone? Russia is "cleaning up" its pre-2022 history (including co-productions and international collaborations).
