Kushtia Zillaala Academy (Bengali: কুষ্টিয়া জেলা শিল্পকলা একাডেমি) is a district-based cultural center operated under government patronage and controlled by the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. It is the second-largest Shilpakala Academy in Bangladesh.[3][4]

History

The Kushtia Zillaala Academy was established in 1974.[1] In July 2017, the then Minister of Cultural Affairs, Asaduzzaman Noor, laid the foundation stone for the academy's new building. On April 12, 2022, former prime minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Kushtia Zillaala Academy. Since then, it has become the second largest Shilpakala Academy in Bangladesh.[4]

Location

Kushtia Zilla la Academy is located in Majampur area of Kushtia. The office of Kushtia Municipality is located on its north side.[citation needed]

Infrastructure

The total area of the academy is 1.01406 acres (4,103.8 m2).[1] A new four-storey building has been constructed by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs at a cost of around 30 crore rupees on this site. This four-storied building has state-of-the-art complex, three state-of-the-art auditoriums.[3] These include:

  1. Fix Auditorium
  2. Multipurpose Auditorium
  3. A conference room with 50 seats and free stage
