Alexander Galloway was chief of police of the Los Angeles Police Department for ten months and 21 days in 1910.[1] He is remembered as one of a series of "inexperienced, non-professional chiefs".[2] Born in Scotland, he immigrated to Canada with his family when he was a boy.[3] Galloway later became a railroad man, ending his transportation-industry career with the Southern Pacific Railway.[3]
