Bablu Mahato, also known as Chandradeo Mahato, is an Indian politician from Sindri Assembly constituency Jharkhand. He is the son of Anand Mahato, a well-known political figure in Jharkhand. Anand Mahato served as a four-time MLA from Sindri and was actively associated with the Marxist Coordination Committee (MCC) until its merger with CPI(ML) Liberation in 2024. Chandradeo Mahato carries forward his father's legacy and has emerged as a key candidate for the Sindri constituency.

Early Life

[edit]

Bablu Mahato began his career as a dedicated government school teacher, where he contributed to the community by educating young minds and fostering local development. Inspired by the legacy and ideals of his father, Anand Mahato, he imbibed his father’s principles of social justice and grassroots activism into his own life. Driven by a commitment to address the broader challenges facing his community, Bablu eventually resigned from his teaching role to step into the political arena. His early experiences in education equipped him with a deep understanding of grassroots issues, which he now brings to his work as a public servant. Through his focus on workers' rights, public infrastructure, and sustainable development, Bablu strives to continue his father’s legacy of service and advocacy.

Political career

[edit]

Bablu Mahato is contesting the 38-Sindri constituency seat in the 2024 Jharkhand Legislative Assembly elections as a candidate of CPI(ML) Liberation.[1][2] His campaign is supported by an alliance comprising Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Indian National Congress, and CPI(ML) Liberation.[3]

The 2024 elections mark his formal entry into electoral politics, with a focus on addressing workers' rights, industrial development, and improving public infrastructure in the region.
