The category Dutch astronomers should definitely include Jan Schilt 1894-1982. He was a student of Kapteyn, but moved to the USA and headed Columbia University's Astronomy Department 1936-1962. Inventor of the Schilt photometer. Rutherford Professor of Astronomy at Columbia University. Studied stellar motions in our galaxy.
