Ctenus hibernalis, or the Alabama wandering spider, is a species of wandering spider in the family Ctenidae. It is found in the United States, almost exclusively within the state of Alabama.[1][2][3][4][5]
Range and Habitat
[edit]Found primarily above the fall line in the state of Alabama. Generally prefers rocky mixed woodland relatively close to water. Sometimes invades human structures. [6]
Venom
[edit]Ctenus hibernalis has a complex venom with neurotoxic components. Anecdotal reports of medical significance to humans are so far unsupported.[7]
