1440 is a Chicago-based media company that produces an online daily newsletter, The Daily Digest.[1][2]
History
[edit]1440 was founded in 2017 by Tim Huelskap (CEO),[3] and Andrew Steigerwald (Editor-in-Chief).[4] In 2018, Pierre Lipton joined as a co-founder.[5] It began as a daily email sent to 78 people to inform readers about current events while saving them time by distilling the facts.[6] The briefing has since evolved into a Daily Digest newsletter, sent to over 3.6 million opt-in subscribers.[citation needed]
As of 2024, 1440 employs eighteen people. It is an employee-owned knowledge source not affiliated with a larger media outlet.[citation needed]
