The 1980 Pennsylvania State Treasurer election took place on November 4, 1980. The Republican nominee, R. Budd Dwyer, won after campaigning against incumbent Treasurer, Democrat Robert P. Casey, who was elected in 1976 partly because voters confused him for then-Auditor General Robert E. Casey. Dwyer gained 49.3% of the vote, while Casey gained 47.2% of the vote.[1]
