Aimee[1] (born December 11, 2001),[1][2][3] commonly known by their online alias Aimsey (stylized as 'aimsey'), is a Welsh[1] YouTuber, Twitch streamer[3][4] and TikToker[3][4] known primarily for creating Minecraft and Animal Crossing content. They are also known for their TikTok content and participating in MC Championship.
Internet Career
[edit]2019–2021: Early streaming career, Bears SMP and TikTok following
[edit]Aimsey created their Twitch account on January 23, 2018[citation needed] under the user 'toadallyaimee'.[1] They began streaming in March 2019 primarily playing Roblox[1] until their hiatus in 2020, before returning under the new alias Aimsey, and began to stream Minecraft.[citation needed]
Aimsey participated in Bears SMP from its inception to its shutdown, helping their overall growth.[1][5]
In 2019, Aimsey created their TikTok account, uploading clips from their streams, which gained them a massive following. As of August 2024, they have almost 4 million followers.[6][7]
Aimsey joined Misfits Gaming in 2021.[8][9][10] They still are shown on the website's creators section as of August 2024.[11]
2022–present: Dream SMP, MC Championship and Aimsey SMP
[edit]Aimsey joined the Dream SMP[12] and briefly participated from March 16, 2022 to November 13, 2022.
On April 25, 2022, Aimsey won LGBTQ Streamer of the Year from the Gayming Awards 2022 hosted by Gayming Magazine.[13] As of 2024, they have not commented.[citation needed][c]
They also participated in MC Championship and Twitch Rivals, playing in 6 championships, and winning 2, MC Championship 32 on the Red Rabbits team[14] and MCC Pride 24 on the Cyan Coyotes team,[14] taking the winning shot in the final mini game.[citation needed]
Aimsey ran a Minecraft server called Aimsey SMP, similar in nature to the Dream SMP and Hermitcraft[citation needed]. It ended in May 2024.[citation needed]
Personal life
[edit]Aimsey was born on December 11, 2001 in Swansea, Wales. They identify as a lesbian[3][7] and have confirmed that they have ADHD. They also use any pronouns[3][7][15] and do not recognise to any gender identity.
They live in Brighton as of 2022.[16][17]
Whilst fans have speculated that Aimsey is dating popular streamer Ranboo,[18] Aimsey revealed that they are instead dating fellow streamer and YouTuber Guqqie.[19]
Philanthropy
[edit]In 2020, Aimsey did a fundraiser for the Color of Change organization, raising $600. They later did another fundraiser stream for the charity on 11 February, 2023 raising over 7 thousand dollars.[20] Aimsey's community has also raised $200 for Stand Up to Cancer,[21] albeit it is unclear whether Aimsey or their community organized the fundraiser.[citation needed]
