- Comment: According to the "Terrabook" reference in the draft, Asterida is the current name and Asteris is the old name. Google maps, however, does use Asteris as the modern name. Homeric island is a description, not a name. AntientNestor (talk) 12:03, 12 August 2024 (UTC)
Asteris (Greek: Αστέρης), formally also known as Asterdia (αστερδια),[1] is a small Greek island, in the Ionian Sea,[2] near Cephalonia and Ithaca islands.
It is also called Daskaleio or Mathitario.[1] In ancient times, the island was called Homeric Island.[2] The island has turquoise waters and it is green.[2]
