Bachelor's Degree in Data Engineering and Artificial Intelligence is the degree awarded upon completion of a study programme focused on the acquisition of technical, scientific, statistical and mathematical knowledge for the design, implementation and optimisation of systems and processes that manage, analyse and extract value from large volumes of data through the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques.[1]
This engineering speciality combines the principles of computer science, data analysis and artificial intelligence to design, develop, test and evaluate algorithms, systems and applications that enable organisations to make data-driven decisions and improve their processes and services.
Today, many organisations rely on information and data to run efficiently and conduct their business activities. Future graduates of Data Engineering and Artificial Intelligence will be experts in handling and analysing this data, helping organisations to use advanced technologies effectively and integrate them quickly into their existing systems to drive innovation and growth.
Education[edit]
In Spain, the training to acquire the necessary knowledge to obtain the Bachelor's Degree of Data Engineering and Artificial Intelligence is structured in a 4-year course plus a Final Degree Project, where the student demonstrates that they have assimilated everything necessary to carry out their profession.
Currently, with the implementation of the Bologna Process, these studies are an evolution of the old degrees of Technical Engineering in Computer Management and Technical Engineering in Computer Systems, incorporating specific knowledge in data analysis, machine learning and artificial intelligence. Universities in Spain are adapting their curricula to the requirements of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) in order to offer homogeneous and quality training in this area.
The Bachelor's Degree in Data Engineering and Artificial Intelligence qualifies students to work as Technical Engineers in Computer Science specialising in data management and analysis and the development of solutions based on artificial intelligence. In addition, it allows access to Professional Associations of Technical Engineers in Computer Science in several autonomous communities in Spain.
