Bhumihar Brahman caste is an organisation of an Ayachak Brahman people of verious sects and branches of Brahmins. Initially the people orginating from Kanyakubj branch where called Bhumihar Brahmans, after that the Ayachak Brahman people of branches like Mohyal, Saryupari, Kshtipavan, Kannada etc. By establishing relations with these people in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, they joined the Bhumihar Brahmans. The Babhans of Magadh, west of Mithilanchal and Zamindar Brahmans of Pryag also joined the Bhumihar Brahmans due to being undemanding.
