CEPRES International University (CIU) is a private university located in Paynesville City, Montserrado County, Liberia. The institution was established in 2014 in response to the healthcare challenges posed by the Ebola outbreak in Liberia, focusing initially on public health and environmental studies.[1]

History Founding and Response to Ebola CEPRES International University was founded in November 2014 by Dr. Mogana S. Flomo Jr., during the height of the Ebola virus epidemic in West Africa. The epidemic revealed significant gaps in Liberia's healthcare system, particularly in public health and environmental health capacities. Dr. Flomo, a public health expert, initiated the university to address these shortcomings by providing specialized training in these fields.[2]

Initially a training center, the institution rapidly expanded and was officially recognized as a university by the Liberian government in February 2015.[3]

Key Milestones November 2014: The university was founded. February 2015: Formal recognition was granted by the Liberian Ministry of Education.[4] February 2016: CEPRES University held its first graduation, awarding degrees to 90 students.[5] Academic Programs CEPRES International University offers a variety of degree programs across multiple disciplines. While the university focuses primarily on healthcare and environmental studies, its offerings have expanded to include education and agricultural programs.
