Submission declined on 7 February 2024 by Bearcat (talk). There's no pressing need for this to already exist now. Although it's possible that an election might happen in 2024 due to the current government being a minority, an election doesn't officially have to happen until fall 2025, so there's no important reason why a candidate list would already have to be in place for an election that could still be 20 months away, especially given that there aren't any finalized candidates to list in it yet because none of the parties have started any of their local nomination contests yet. Declined by Bearcat 9 months ago.As of right now, the only content this actually contains is the incumbent members who are currently representing each district right now, with not even one name present in any of the 45th election candidates columns yet -- but the incumbent members are already covered in List of House members of the 44th Parliament of Canada, which means this doesn't yet contain any information we don't already have in other places. Obviously if there is a snap election later in 2024, then we can rush this out when that happens -- but creating an article is not hard enough that we would need this to already exist this far in advance of any useful content for it. |

- Comment: You have already been told several times that there's no pressing reason for this to already be in articlespace now. If a snap election is called in the interim, then this will be rushed into place at that time, but unless and until that happens this will not be accepted, and is not to be resubmitted to the review queue again, any earlier than April 2025 (six months before the standard expected election date.) - Comment: More references from reliable sources needed. The Herald (Benison) (talk) 17:22, 30 January 2024 (UTC)

Notes
[edit]- ^ No Affiliation is used by Elections Canada when a candidate leaves the Party Affiliation entry blank on his or her registration; this is often done by candidates from unregistered political parties.
- ^ a b c d e f g h i Incumbent was announced by party as running in the next election but later resigned or announced they would not run again.
- ^ a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z A previous candidate was announced by the party but withdrew, died or was dropped.
- ^ Candidate was originally nominated in a different riding using the 2013 electoral boundaries and would presumably run there if a byelection were held.[1]
- ^ The Elections Canada Nomination Contest Database lists his name as Tommy Boulé (Boureau).[1]
- ^ The party candidate announcement omits the hyphen from his name but the correct style appears on his EDA's website bio.
- ^ Party candidate page lists her with her old riding, Durham, but her correct riding appears elsewhere.
- ^ Liberal Party announcements originally gave her surname as Jabeen[178] but her later announcement used the same graphic with Munir replacing Jabeen.
- ^ Jeremy Nixon was initially announced as the winner in a close vote;[279] a recount the next day gave McKenzie the victory by seven votes.[280]
- ^ Farbridge was originally nominated in Burnaby South[1] before the new riding boundaries took effect and would presumably run there if there were a byelection. He was described as a pending candidate in April 2024.[321]
