Daniel Bueno Vorcaro is a Brazilian investment banker and businessman born in Belo Horizonte.[1] He is known for investments in companies in Brazil, particularly in the healthcare, retail, and technology sectors and involvement in Brazilian football.[2][3]

Early life and education

[edit]

Daniel Vorcaro was born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. He holds an MBA from the Brazilian Institute of Capital Markets (IBMEC), completed in 2007. His education also included attending the Fundação Torino, an elite school in Belo Horizonte, which encouraged entrepreneurship. [4]

Career

[edit]

Banco Master

[edit]

In 2018, Daniel Vorcaro assumed the presidency of Banco Master. Under his leadership, the bank changed its name from Banco Máxima to Banco Master and expanded its operations, including the creation of an investment brokerage. Additionally, Vorcaro founded Banco Master of Investment and holds a stake in Kovr Seguradora.[5]

The bank expanded its operations, occupying four floors in the Pátio Victor Malzoni building on Avenida Faria Lima in São Paulo. Later, Vorcaro announced the relocation of operations to a larger building, aiming to centralize all activities in one place.[4]

Investments in Biomm

[edit]

Vorcaro is the largest shareholder of Biomm, a pharmaceutical company from Minas Gerais that saw its shares rise 67% on the stock exchange after announcing an agreement to bring a similar to the medication Ozempic to Brazil starting in 2026. Additionally, Vorcaro will have a seat on Biomm's board and has nominated Pedro Mesquita, former head of XP's investment bank, to join the board.[6]

Restructuring of Veste S.A. Estilo

[edit]

In 2022, Vorcaro acquired a stake in Restoque, now renamed Veste S.A. Estilo. Through WNT Capital, he supported the conversion of R$ 1.6 billion of debt into equity and approved a capital increase of R$ 100 million to finance store renovations.[7][8]

Other interests

[edit]

In 2023, Vorcaro became an investor in Brazilian football club Atlético-MG, [3] with an initial investment of R$ 100 million in the club's Football Anonymous Society (SAF). [9] In 2024, he increased his investment to R$ 200 million, raising his stake to 20.2% of the shares. [10] Consequently, he joined the club's football committee. [2]

Banco Master began operating outside Brazil, with the opening of an office on Brickell Avenue, in Miami. Vorcaro's strategy included issuing CDBs at rates higher than those practiced in the market, a strategy that generated debate and criticism in the financial sector due to the high risk involved in the operations.[4]
