Ed Sousa, (born 30 August 1964) is the founder of McBowl, an event which promotes concerts for charity. Ed is also a Director at Classic Bowl. Ed spends countless hours of his personal time for charity. Ed is also the owner of Sousa Productions. Born in Azores, Portugal, Ed immigrated to Canada at the age of 10 in 1974. Ed always had a passion for music. The first artist Ed worked with was the Barenaked Ladies in 1989 as part of CFNY's promotion of new Canadian upcoming talent. Ed feels he was fortunate to meet his favourite artist, Mike Score of "A Flock Of Seagulls" in early 2002 who opened Ed's doors on his musical promotional journey.
Ed Sousa has been nominated twice to receive an award from Mississauga Music in 2023 and 2024. The awards ceremony for 2024 will be held on September 14, 2024. Ed Sousa - The Sousa Group, are well known for contributing proceeds of concerts to Ronald McDonald House for the last 10 Years. A biography for Ed Sousa is in the works and written by Perry Lefko, a multiple award-winning writer.
Ed's artists booked to date include international greats Midge Ure, ABC, Steve Norman of Spandau Ballet, China Crisis, The Art Of Noise, Jesus Jones, Information Society along with Canadian greats Honeymoon Suite, Chilliwack, Harlequin, Streetheart, Spoons, The Box and many others.
