- Comment: It's far from clear whether the sources establish notability per WP:NCORP. However, for now I'm declining this for the promotional tone and content, and the sparse referencing (large swathes of content without a single citation – where is all this info coming from?). Greiner AG, along with its subsidiary companies forming the Greiner Group, is a manufacturer and processor of plastic and foam-based products headquartered in Kremsmünster, Austria. Founded in 1868 by Carl Albert Greiner, the company has remained under 100% family ownership for five generations, with a non-family member appointed to the Management Board since 2009. Operating across 118 sites in 33 countries, Greiner has established itself as a prominent player in the plastics and foam industry.[1].

Greiner was originally established as a colonial goods and hardware store in Nürtingen, Germany. The Company produced and marketed cork stoppers. The company shifted its focus exclusively to this sector, expanding operations to Austria and Spain in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In 1952 Greiner began to manufacture foam. Subsidiaries such as Greiner Packaging, Greiner Bio-One, and Greiner Extrusion were subsequently established, each specializing in distinct areas of plastic and foam production.
In 1960s Greiner began to expand into injection molding and thermoforming, and in the 1970s it specialised in medical technology with Greiner Bio-One. Over the decades, Greiner continued to venture into further sectors such as automotive components, aerospace, and thermal insulation. In 1992, Greiner formed a joint venture with Belgian company Recticel, creating Eurofoam and facilitating expansion into Eastern Europe.
In 2021, Greiner founded NEVEONHolding GmbH through the merger of various foam-related entities. Today, Greiner operates globally, offering a diverse portfolio of products and solutions across multiple industries.
Company Structure[edit]
Greiner AG comprises three divisions: Greiner Bio-One[2], Greiner Packaging[3] [4], and Neveon Holding GmbH. Greiner Bio-One specializes in medical technology, producing collection systems, cell culture products, and sterilization services.[5][6][7][8][9] Greiner Packaging focuses on plastic packaging for food and non-food sectors.[10][11] NEVEON, is a producer of polyurethane foams for various applications.
Additionally, Greiner AG encompasses Greiner Innoventures, an innovation incubator investing in start-ups with a focus on digital and circular economy solutions. The company also addresses employee development through initiatives such as the Greiner Academy and apprenticeship training programs.
Sustainability and Recognition[edit]
Greiner is committed to sustainability, implementing initiatives such as the "Design for Recycling" guideline and setting climate targets. The company's "Blue Plan" strategy outlines specific objectives for reducing waste, increasing renewable energy usage, and promoting circular economy principles. Greiner's efforts have been recognized through various awards, including Austria's Best Managed Company[12][13] and the Green Packaging Star Award[14] [15][16]
As a member of the UN Global Compact network and participant in the Ellen MacArthur Foundation's New Plastics Economy Global Commitment, Greiner actively contributes to global sustainability initiatives.[17] The company was awarded a gold CSR rating by EvoVadis in 2024.
