Janna Ensthaler (* 2. November 1983 in Hamburg as Janna Lisa Schmidt-Holtz)[1] is a German entrepreneur. She is a investor in theVOX show Die Höhle der Löwen (lit. the lion's den).
Werdegang
[edit]Janna Ensthaler ist the daughter of the former editor-in-chief of the Stern, Rolf Schmidt-Holtz.[2] She holds a bachelor's degree in economics and management from the University of Oxford and a master's degree in international relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
After starting her career as a management consultant at Bain & Company in London, she founded the Hamburg restaurant chain Kaiserwetter,[3] which she was the sole shareholder of until it sold in 2015. In 2010, in partnership withStartup-Inkubator Rocket Internet, she founded the cosmetics company Kosmetikfirma Glossybox,[4] which sold in 2017 to the british Hut Group . In 2013, she founded the software company EventInc, a digital platform for corporate events.[5]Since 2021, Ensthaler has been a partner in the Green Generation Fund, a venture capital fund she founded with a focus on investments in climate technology and vegan nutrition.[6]
Since April 2023, she has been an investor on the tv show Die Höhle der Löwen.[7] The Manager Magazin named her one of the 100 most influential women in German business.[8]
Ensthaler married and has 3 kids.[2]
