Jason Ayres is an Australian singer-songwriter who produces alternative country music. Based in Western Australia, his music has been played on major Australian media outlets such as 96fm, Mix 94.5, and the ABC.[1] Ayres has cultivated a following through live performances, with sold-out shows at prominent music venues in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.
He has shared stages with international artists including Dionne Warwick, Anastacia, Rick Astley, and 10CC, as well as Australian musicians such as Russell Morris, Diesel,[2] Thirsty Merc, and Mental as Anything.[3][4] In July 2017, Ayres performed alongside the band AMERICA in Queensland. He is currently working on his latest album and a national tour.

Jason Ayres is an Australian singer-songwriter known for his alternative country music. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Ayres relocated to Perth, Western Australia aged 17.[5] In Perth, he began his music career, teaching himself to play guitar and developing his songwriting skills through participation in the local club scene.

Jason Ayres began his music career with the release of his debut EP, "The Acoustic Sessions," in 2007, which highlighted his solo acoustic style and helped build a dedicated grassroots following across Australia. In 2009, Ayres explored a new direction with his EP "Chasing Ghosts," featuring a full band.[6] The title track received his initial commercial radio play, and the EP's launch at the Subiaco Arts Centre in August 2010 sold out, attracting attention from various media outlets.[7]
Returning to his acoustic roots in 2013, Ayres released a self-titled album that garnered industry attention and led to opportunities supporting national and international acts like Rick Astley and Anastacia. In 2015, Ayres demonstrated his versatility with the "Covered" EP, presenting country interpretations of popular songs such as "Big Jet Plane" and "Bang Bang." His 2016 release, "River You Cry," marked a venture into alternative country, featuring acoustic-driven tracks. Continuing to evolve his musical style, Ayres released "Got My Heart" in 2017, maintaining his country influences while incorporating a more electric sound with lighter themes compared to his earlier work.[8][9]
Currently, Ayres is focused on his upcoming album and preparing for new tours, demonstrating his ongoing dedication to his craft and creating music that resonates with diverse audiences. Additionally, Ayres remains active as a producer and songwriter for other artists within the music industry.
