While in college, he clerked for Steir, Anderson and Malone, focusing on Civil RICO matters. He later attended University of Miami School of Law where he graduated in 2002.[3]

Career

[edit]

While in law school and after graduation, Jason worked for famed criminal defense attorney Roy Black.[4] The firm opened up a civil division led by Larry Stumpf where the firm represented entertainment talent including Enrique Iglesias and Helio Castroneves.[5] Jason then worked at a top personal injury law firm in Miami for about 5 years before opening up his own practice, the Law Offices of Jason Turchin, in 2007. The firm continues to operate as a national practice representing victims injured by defective products, wrongful death, life insurance claim disputes, cruise passenger injury claims, and personal injury cases.

Known for his high profile cases, Jason has been featured in media throughout the world.[6] Jason appeared on CBS Evening News after discovering the Takata airbag defect[7], leading to one of the largest automotive recalls in United States history.[8] His investigation into the Takata patents revealed years of changes to airbags prior to the recall.[9] Jason Turchin was credited in the US Senate Report on the Takata airbag recall, with his work exhibited in a US Senate hearing on the recall.[10] [11] As a national product liability lawyer, Jason's cases have received attention throughout the US, including those involving defective pressure cookers.[12]

Jason is a published author with a number one best selling book on Amazon in the area of Accident Law.[13] He is also the inventor of the My Attorney App, one of the first ever apps for lawyers developed in 2009.[14]

Jason received the 2024 Tony Award as Broadway co-producer of the musical, The Outsiders, as well as a 2024 Tony Award nomination as Broadway co-producer of the musical, Suffs. He was also co-producer of the 2024 Tony Award-winning Broadway play, Appropriate, and investor in the 2024 Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of Merrily We Roll Along.
