Kapil Jiwa (born 1984) is a British-born Indian Accountant/entrepreneur. He is currently the director of a business in the Falkland Islands called Mercado. Mercado was created in May 2023 as Falkland Islands first multi-vendor marketplace www.mercado.co.fk

Early life and family Jiwa was born in Birmingham, England in 1984, the son of Mukesh Jiwa and Arti Jiwa. His father moved to UK as a young child from Mombasa Kenya at the age of 3 to Preston, Lancashire, England. His mother was born in Tanzania and came to Birmingham, England in the mid 1980's.

Falkland Islands Jiwa saw an advert on www.indeed.com for a System Accountant in the Falkland Islands, in November 2019 he embarked on a journey from RAF Brize Norton on 7th November 2019 and settled in the capital, Stanley.

Jiwa worked for the [Falkland Islands Government] for 3 years as a Systems Accountant and subsequently resigned his position to fulfill his ambition of being an entrepreneur.

Since inception of Mercado in 2023 the Mercado business has evolved into a procurement service, car rental and tourism related business. Currently a new project website is being created known as [1]. This website will aim directly to the rich tourism industry of the Falkland Islands.
