Ken Chen is a computational biologist, recognized as a Professor in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.[1] He had bachelor degree in Engineering from Tsinghua University in Beijing, Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2004, and postdoctoral training in Biochemistry and Biophysics from University of California San Diego, and worked as a senior scientist and a research faculty at Washington University in St. Louis from 2005 to 2011.
Ken's developed widely used computational tools such as BreakDancer in the field of cancer genomics, genome evolution, functional multiomics, single-cell dynamics, and systems modeling towards discovery and development of novel cancer diagnostics and therapeutics. He has published over 180 journal papers, with a strong interest in applying machine learning, artificial intelligence, and other physical science techniques to improve biomedical research and patient care.
