Koala Airlines, is a proppective Australian low-cost airline,[1] headquartered in Melbourne. Koala was founded in March 2018 by Bill Astling, who had previously worked as a consultant for twelve major and start-up airlines.[2]

Acquisition of Desert Air Safaris

On 1 January 2019, Koala Airlines acquired Desert Air Safaris that had operated since its founding in 1970 by Dick Lang and Helen Lang out of Highbury, South Australia.[3] This acquisition included the air operator's certificate issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority.[4][5]

Fleet

Koala Airlines is in negotiations to purchase an unspecified number of 737 MAX 8 aircraft.[1]
