Ní Chíobháin spent a significant part of her childhood in the Corca Dhuibhne Gaeltacht in Kerry, which contributed to her fluency in Irish. She has pursued formal training in writing and drama, including a postgraduate diploma in Acting from the National University of Ireland Galway and further training in screen acting in London.

Career

Ní Chíobháin has a diverse career spanning writing, performing, and directing, particularly in children's media. She began her career as an in-house producer and director for TG4, focusing on youth programming. Her screenwriting credits include popular RTÉjr series such as "Dig In Diner" and "Mr Mender and the Chummyjiggers," as well as contributions to Irish soap opera "Fair City." She is also known for her voice work in animation, having re-voiced numerous characters for TG4 over the past decade.

Her literary work includes titles such as "GIY’s Know-it-Allmanac," a guide to growing and cooking food through the year, created in collaboration with GIY's Michael Kelly and illustrator Fatti Burke, and "Scúnc Agus Smúirín," a children's book illustrated by Paddy Donnelly, which was shortlisted for the KPMG Children’s Books Ireland Awards.
