SIU Prize is a biennial award organized by Saigon International University (SIU) and sponsored by The Group of Asian International Education (GAIE) celebrating exceptional discoveries in Health Sciences and Computer Science by Vietnamese or Vietnam-descent scientists.

The SIU Prize was announced for the first time in 2023.

- September 2023: SIU Prize opens the portal to receive nominations for the first award in the field of Computer Science (SIU Prize Computer Science)

- December 16, 2023: SIU Prize officially announced for the first time to the academic and media community. The event took place live at SIU Dien Hong Theater and online with the participation of scientists from prestigious universities in the United States, France, Australia...

- June 1, 2024: SIU Prize finalizes the nomination list and enters the round of selecting the winning thesis.

SIU Prize is established by the Founder Council of the Group of Asian International Education (GAIE). SIU Prize is hosted by the Saigon International University (SIU) and sponsored by the Group of Asian International Education (GAIE).

Candidates applying for the awards must be:

Vietnamese or of Vietnamese descent whose doctoral theses have been successfully defended within the last 5 years prior to the deadline of the nomination process, based on the conferral date of the doctoral degree.

COMPUTER SCIENCE currently covers: Artificial Intelligence, Programming Languages & Logics, Scientific Computing and Applications, Computer Systems, Theory of Computation, Data Sciences, Machine Learning, Bioinformatics, Network Security, etc.

SIU PRIZE COMPUTER SCIENCE honors the best doctoral theses on/related to the fields of Computer Science, especially research and development in areas such as artificial intelligence systems, big data, bioinformatics, cybersecurity, etc., in education, healthcare, transportation, construction, architecture, digital economy and smart, innovative cities and society, and other areas.

Award-winning theses are determined based on their valuable theoretical and practical contributions; disruptive and innovative developments in computer architecture, technology, systems, languages, algorithms, connection protocols, etc. They must be highly applicable, capable of solving modern-day society’s most challenging problems and contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam in particular and the world in general.

SIU PRIZE COMPUTER SCIENCE is held every 2 years to motivate, encourage and nurture the aspirations to serve Vietnamese people, to strive for Vietnamese intellectual excellence. With this award, SIU wishes to create a bridge connecting Vietnamese intellectuals with scientists, researchers, and inventors around the world in order to join hands for the cause of science – technology development, all in the name of service to humanity in general and Vietnam in particular.
