Shaheed Colonel Kazi Emdadul Haque Public School is a Bangladeshi school located at the sector headquarter of Border Guard Bangladesh Battalion-1 in Rajshahi. Although, originally established to ensure the education of the children of Border Guards Bangladesh (former Bangladesh Rifles) members but civilians can also study here.
History
[edit]A worthy son of Rajshahi district, Colonel Kazi Emdadul Haque, PSC, was martyred in the brutal killings of BDR insurgency in Pilkhana [3], Dhaka on February 25-26, 2009 while serving as sector commander of Rajshahi. [4] This is the best child of the nation, intelligent in the sense of duty, skilled in the performance of duties, honest, modest and brave, inspired by a unique common patriotism. Shaheed Colonel Kazi Emdadul Haque Public School was established on June 1, 2010. The foundation of this school was laid by the former Director General Major General Md. Rafiqul Islam, NDC, PSC, Bangladesh Rifles. [4]
The journey started with only 7 rooms, 11 teachers-staff and 256 students. Since 2011, the Martyr Colonel Kazi Emdadul Haque Public School has been recognized by all as a safe educational institution. The school is governed by a specific Central Border Guard Bangladesh Educational Institutions Management Rules and Regulations (Constitution) in coordination with the laws prescribed by the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. [4] At present, the total number of branch-wise students from Nursery to Class 10 is about 1500, teachers and staff are 50, and there are 34 rooms in total. BGB's role in education and spread of education is everywhere. [4]

[edit]This school consistently ranks among the top 20 schools in Rajshahi. [5]
Academic performance
[edit]The school has a consistent record of strong academic performance, especially in national examinations such as the Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Secondary School Certificate (SSC). In the 2024 SSC examination, 98 students appeared, all of whom passed, with 46 students achieving a GPA of 5. Similar 100% pass rates were recorded in previous years, such as in 2022 and 2021.[6]
The JSC results have also been commendable. In 2017, all 72 students who sat for the exam passed, with 46 obtaining GPA 5. Over the years, the school has demonstrated a strong commitment to maintaining its high academic standards.[6]
Curriculum
[edit]Follows the curriculum prescribed by the National Curriculum and Textbook Board of Bangladesh. The institution is approved by Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Rajshahi, Bangladesh. Students can participate in Secondary Examinations. [4]
Shifts
[edit]From Nursery to Class 2, classes are held in the morning and end in the late morning. After their classes conclude, in the late morning, classes for Grades 3 and 4 begin. Class 5 starts in the morning and ends in the early noon. Classes for Grades 6 to 10 start in the morning and end in the late noon. [citation needed]
Achievements
[edit]* National Phrase Competitions: Students from the school consistently excel in national phrase competitions, regularly qualifying and winning top honors.
* Victory Day District Parade (2022): The school secured third place in the Victory Day district parade.
* Inter-School Football Championship (2023): The school's football team achieved the title of champion in the inter-school football competition at the Upozila phase in 2023. This victory highlights the school's emphasis on sportsmanship and teamwork.[7]
