Stokkan middle school

Stokkan secondary school is a communal middle school at Stjørdalshalsen in Stjørdal commune in Trøndelag. The elementary schools Fosslia, Halsen and Kvislabakken gather at Stokkan for their middle school education. Stokkan is the commune´s largest middle school. Stjørdal commune built a new middle school at Stokkan in 1974.The open-plan layout with a "beehive" – many hexagonal rooms on one level – was radical for its time.

The old school buildings were demolished in the spring of 2010, while the new school was built next to it. The new Stokkan secondary school was put into use for the start of school in the autumn of the same year. The building is U-shaped. The floor area is twice as large as the old school, spread over two floors, with a canteen, auditorium and several special rooms.
