Brigadier General Yushau Dogara Ahmed is a Nigerian soldier who serves as the Director general if the National Youth Service Corps.
Born in Kagarko, Kaduna State, Nigeria,.[1] He pursued higher education at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education with a focus on History [2]. Driven by a deep desire for further knowledge, he later achieved a Master of Education in Educational Psychology and a Master of Arts in Peace and Strategic Studies [3].
Military Career
[edit]Brigadier General Ahmed's military career commenced with his commissioning into the Nigerian Army Education Corps as a Lieutenant on July 5, 1997 [4]. Over the years, he has attended numerous courses aimed at enhancing his professional skills:

[edit]On January 30, 2023, Brigadier General Ahmed was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari as the 22nd Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)[6][7][8][9][10][11]. He outlined several focal areas for his administration:
- Enhancing security and welfare of Corps members and staff for optimal service delivery
- Creating an enabling environment for research and development
- Strengthening stakeholder engagement to promote the scheme
- Enhancing capacity building for improved efficiency and performance
- Deepening the impact of the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) Programme
Achievements

- Completion of the ICT Centre at the NYSC Headquarters Complex[14]
- Successful participation of Corps members in the 2023 General Elections[15][16]
- Completion and equipping of the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Centre in Potiskum, Yobe State[17]
- Training of 486 staff members within the first quarter of 2023[18]
- Advocacy and engagement with stakeholders leading to substantial support for the scheme[19][20][21]
