Marvel.com reporting on a trade exclusive
[edit]Sorry if this is forum-y, but I saw Marvel.com's article about this and they were referencing throughout THR's article. Usually after the trades post something, they may make their own formal announcement, but I don't think I've ever seen them make a post that essentially confirms in a way what the trade reported on. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 01:20, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
- I have noticed Marvel.com's been posting more on recent MCU news quickly, especially this month, but this is interestingly different and could indicate some distance is still between the site and Marvel Studios' plans. Trailblazer101 (talk) 01:44, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
- Saw this too‚ was very surprised. Maybe the website wasn't notified of the news before THR posted their article. — SirDot (talk) 01:53, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
- I found this odd as well, but I guess I shouldn't have been surprised. Marvel.com is managed by Marvel New Media, a subsidiary of Marvel Entertainment, independent from Marvel Studios. So we really should be treating their articles as articles written by their staff members rather than actual "press releases", unlike Disney's other news sites. (I'm also tempted to bring Deadpool 3 back up because of this, but if there's still consensus for that name I won't push it.) InfiniteNexus (talk) 02:34, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
- This is very interesting, I can't tell from the wording whether they were just supposed to acknowledge THR's exclusive or if they are actually getting their info from THR. Either way, I don't think this should impact Deadpool 3 since that is both the WP:COMMONNAME and also the name that Reynolds explicitly used in his videos. - adamstom97 (talk) 23:20, 1 October 2022 (UTC)
