I think this person meets WP:GNG because there are multiple news articles about her work in reliable, independent sources. The article draft cites https://citynews.com.au/2021/azure-returns-indigenous-blood-samples-home/ in Canberra CityNews, and there's also https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-05-27/blood-samples-stored-at-anu-returned-to-indigenous-community/100164322 in ABC News (Australia) which talks about her for a few paragraphs. There's also coverage for a few paragraphs about her work from National Indigenous Television at https://www.sbs.com.au/nitv/article/will-indigenous-australia-lead-the-way-in-ethical-genetic-research/d4j0sd07m. I've added citations to the other two articles I mentioned. GenomeFan92 (talk) 13:55, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Since the second review was declined, I've found another news source with a few Hermes-related paragraphs: https://www.genengnews.com/topics/drug-discovery/diverse-genomes-make-medicine-more-equitable/ GenomeFan92 (talk) 15:46, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK, since the decline on November 1st, I've added citations to 3 additional sources which I think are independent, reliable, and have significant coverage of Hermes and her work:
1. https://www.genengnews.com/topics/drug-discovery/diverse-genomes-make-medicine-more-equitable/ which has several paragraphs describing Hermes's work at NCIG. There are a lot of quotes from her, but the fact that she exists and is doing work that the outlet wants to write about is fact-checked. The venue is a Mary Ann Liebert publication. Hermes appears in the article 7 times, across 5 paragraphs.
2. https://canberradaily.com.au/anu-variations-in-indigenous-dna-hold-key-to-tailored-treatments/ which has a big picture of Hermes as the article photo, and describes in its entirety work she oversaw as NCIG deputy director, along with what she has to say about it.
3. https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-019-03906-5, a news article in Nature about community engagement work that Hermes worked on at NCIG, including three paragraphs covering Hermes and what she has to say about the work. GenomeFan92 (talk) 16:10, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
