List of active Portuguese Navy ships
This is a list of active Portuguese Navy ships.[1]
In total there are 36 military ships commissioned in the Navy. Portuguese Navy also operates 43 auxiliary military vessels, known as Unidade Auxiliar da Marinha (UAM).[2]

Auxiliary vessels
[edit]The Portuguese Navy has dozens of small vessels, of which 41 are Navy Auxiliary Units. All of these vessels belong to the Maritime Authority System.
- 12 rescue crafts;[9]
- 37 lifesaving rigid inflatable boats;[9]
- 9 captaincy vessels;[10]
- 35 patrol rigid inflatable boats;[11]
- 20 other vessels, such as armed speedboats belonging to Portuguese Marine Corps and anti pollution boats.[12][13]
