Longbeach is an Australian brand of cigarettes, currently owned and manufactured by Philip Morris International.
History
[edit]Longbeach was launched in the late 1970s.[4] Eventually, the brand became the second most popular brand in Australia, after Winfield.[5]
In 2012, a pack of Longbeach cigarettes cost $10.70 in New Zealand. That price was increased to $17.00 in 2016.[6]
Longbeach and Winfield reporting annual sales of more than $750 million for the first time in 2006.[7]
Sport sponsorship
[edit]Longbeach was a major sponsor of sport in Australia until outlawed by the Tobacco Advertising Prohibition Act 1992 that banned all tobacco advertising and sponsorship starting from December 1995 onwards.
