Nail Omerović (born 20 October 2002) is a Bosnian professional footballers who plays as a full-back for Croatian Football League club NK Osijek and the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.[1]
Club career
[edit]He started his football career as youth at NK Zvijezda Gradačac.[2] He played for Sloboda Tuzla before joining NK Osijek in 2021, initially playing for NK Osijek II. He signed a new three-year contract with the club in February 2023.[3] Capable of playing right back or further up the field,[4] he made 30 appearances for NK Osijek in the 2023-24 season in all competitions, scoring one goal.[5]
International career
[edit]He was called-up to the Bosnia and Herzegovina national under-21 football team in October 2023.[6] In May 2024, he was called-up to the senior Bosnia and Herzegovina squad for their friendly matches in June 2024 against England and Italy.[7][8]
He made his debut on 14 October 2024 in a UEFA Nations League game against Hungary at the Bilino Polje Stadium. He substituted Jusuf Gazibegović at half-time and fouled for a penalty kick just 4 minutes later, which the Hungary converted on their way to a 2–0 victory.[9]
