Poland Resolution
[edit]Should the below news entry be included in the portal?
International relations
- Poland–Russia relations
- The Polish Committee for Standardization adopts a resolution renaming the Russian semi-exclave Kaliningrad Oblast as Królewiec Oblast, in line with its 14th century Polish name. Russia calls the move a "hostile act". (Polish Press Agency) (The Times)

- Exclude as person for started this entry. The act is symbolic with little actual impact, given that Kaliningrad is not governed by Poland, but by Russia. Carter00000 (talk) 12:41, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
- The act is symbolic, I certainly agree with this statement. However, the Kaliningrad issue has come at a time of hightened tensions between the West (especially Poland) and Russia so given the context I would say this is notable enough to belong here. I mean, what's the point of having a category for international relations if we don't have anything there? It has been reported on by the BBC, The Guardian, Voice of America and Associated Press. It's clearly a notable current event, symbolic or not. GWA88 (talk) 12:51, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
- Upon reading your justification and reviewing the articles you have sourced in the entry in more detail, I've re-added the entry, with the wording being more aligned with the first source. Please let me know if you have any comments on the wording. Carter00000 (talk) 14:31, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
- I am fine with that wording. GWA88 (talk) 15:27, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
