Rainer Böhm

Rainer Böhm (23 February 1952 – 21 May 2013) was a German composer.[1][2]

Life

Born in Berlin, Böhm studied composition and conducting at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler". Afterwards he was a master student for composition at the Academy of Arts, Berlin. In 1984 he became musical director at the Berliner Ensemble. He worked with theatre directors such as Heiner Müller, Christoph Schroth [de], Claus Peymann [de] and Manfred Wekwerth. He also wrote several scores for the documentary film director Volker Koepp.

Böhm died in Berlin at the age of 61.
