Rory Dennis Thomas Grand (born 15 March 1986) is an English former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He has the UEFA coaching licence and a UEFA Goalkeeping License and is goalkeeper coach.

Coaching career

In his career as a goalkeeping coach, Rory Grand has managed Coventry City Youth, LA Galaxy Academy, Bangkok United, Kerala Blasters, Svay Rieng, PSIS Semarang and Hyderabad FC.

While at Bangkok United F.C., Grand once led some of these goalkeepers to shine like Supanut Suadsong [de], who debuted in the Thailand U20 national team, Varuth Wongsomsak [de] who also debuted in the Thailand U20 national team, Sumethee Khokpho [de] who debuted in the Thailand U21 national team, Anusith Termee who was called up by the Thailand U23 national team, and Michael Falkesgaard who debuted in the Philippines national team.

While at Kerala Blasters FC, he was appointed as goalkeeper coach to ex-England goalkeeper David James (footballer, born 1970) and managed to bring Dheeraj Singh to his debut in the India U23 national team.

In Cambodia, he won the Cambodian Premier League in 2019 and led his team's keeper, Sovannarath Aim, to become the Cambodian Premier League goalkeeper of the year in 2019.

After Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng FC he left for PSIS Semarang in the Liga 1 (Indonesia). During the season the Kanjuruhan Stadium disaster happened forcing the league to stop, with uncertainty on when the league would resume and despite an improvement in the clubs goalkeeper he decided to move back to Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng FC where he helped Vireak Dara make his debut with the Cambodia national under-23 football team.

He is currently coaching at former Indian Super League winners Hyderabad FC where he has overseen goalkeeper Gurmeet Singh (footballer) making his debut for the India national under-23 football team and a call up to the India national football team.
