[edit]The boat was built by W. D. Schock Corporation in the United States between 1967 and 1974, with 210 boats completed.[1][6][7]
Design
[edit]The Santana 27 is a small recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass, with wooden trim. It has a masthead sloop rig, an internally-mounted spade-type rudder and a fixed fin keel. It displaces 5,000 lb (2,268 kg) and carries 2,300 lb (1,043 kg) of iron ballast. The boat has a draft of 4.25 ft (1.30 m) with the standard fin keel.[1][2][5]
The boat has a PHRF racing average handicap of 201 with a high of 211 and low of 198. It has a hull speed of 6.36 kn (11.78 km/h).[2][5]
