Automatic Qualifiers
[edit]Based on this: "Host nation, Australia, and the nine best team teams on 31 December 2018 who played in last edition of ICC Twenty20 World Cup, are automatically entered for the final tournament. The remaining six entrants from the last tournament qualify for the qualifying tournament. Of the teams in the ICC T20I Championship ranking, the United Arab Emirates and Nepal must qualify through regional competitions.", it sounds like the teams that competed in the last Super 10 round of the 2016 competition are already automatically qualified. Australia (as host), India (as previous host), England, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. Meanwhile the other 6 teams that participated must play in the final qualifying tournament - thus: Zimbabwe, Ireland, Oman, Scotland, the Netherlands, and Hong Kong. Is this not so? 72.27.99.129 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 07:45, 11 July 2018 (UTC)
- It sounds about right, but with anything to do with this sort of thing, we'll have to wait until the ICC will confirm all the teams. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 08:30, 11 July 2018 (UTC)

Dates for regional finals
[edit]Dates for regional finals can be found here https://twitter.com/BdJcricket/status/1094577028576301056 --Moedk (talk) 11:20, 11 February 2019 (UTC)
UAE in the Asia Regional Final
[edit]The ICC released the full fixture schedule yesterday for the Regional Finals. Those with eagle-eyes might have spotted that the UAE are not listed in the Asia RFs. The ICC confirmed they had reached the RFs last year (one, two). The pathway graphic still shows them as being one of the teams in the RF. Maybe this has something to do with them also being the host of THIS tournament? I'd assume that if they did get one of the two spots from the Asia group, then the next best placed team would qualify too. Does anyone have any sources to confirm if they are in the Regional Final group now or not? Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 15:27, 20 March 2019 (UTC)
- Ignore this, it's buried in the last press release with just one team going through from the Asia Group. Good ol' clear ICC! Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 15:57, 20 March 2019 (UTC)
Date
[edit]What was wrong with this edit? It has a link to KNCB, the current date that was reverted to is as the edit say, for the T20 World cup, not the qualifier, but with the wrong year, 2019 instead of 2020. "... while the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will be played from 18 October – 15 November 2020." --Moedk (talk) 18:47, 9 June 2019 (UTC)
- Ahh, good spot. Reverted initially as the IP is linked to a banned user who had a history of mis-information, amongst other issues. I've changed it. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me
- Well, I always thought a month sounded excessive, so the dates from that edit made more sense, so I double checked the references --Moedk (talk) 20:00, 9 June 2019 (UTC)
Nigeria
[edit]@Lugnuts: No sign of an official squad announcement from Nigeria yet, but I see they have been playing some warm-up matches in the UAE, so I assume these will be the players. PS: Assuming the game against Kenya today didn't have T20I status ('warm-ups' always confuse me)! Bs1jac (talk) 15:12, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
- Apparently these (and others) are 'unofficial warm-ups'; so not even the 'official', non T20I, warm-ups! Bs1jac (talk) 15:18, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
- Haha! They're pretty good at updating their website, unlike several other associate teams. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 16:12, 7 October 2019 (UTC)

Next T20 World Cup Qualifier 2022
[edit]The info box links to 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Global Qualifier A, as the next T20 World Cup Qualifier, but there is also a 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Global Qualifier B, so it's kinda broken.--Moedk (talk) 17:29, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
- I guess technically it's correct, as that happened before the B qualifier. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 17:37, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
- Ok, so then we should insert Global Qualifier B as the next on the Global Qualifier A page? Moedk (talk) 18:12, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
- And Global Qualifier B should point back to Global Qualifier A, instead of the 2019 Qualifier? Moedk (talk) 18:15, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
- Yes and yes - and done! Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 18:26, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
