India Uttar Pradesh Ruling Question

[edit]

Hello there, in India on 2 February 2021, the Allahabad High Court passed a ruling regarding dismissal from the Home Guard on the basis of sexuality within the state of Uttar Pradesh. ( https://www.livelaw.in/news-updates/allahabad-high-court-reinstate-lgbt-member-in-service-right-to-privacy-indecent-169596 ) I am however unsure what the implications of this and precedent on LGBT rights in the state are exactly. Given this is being heralded as a pretty important ruling for LGBT rights in the region, I think it's inclusion on the list is important, but I do need more information in regards of the precedent this ruling sets that I don't seem to be able to find. Any help with this (With evidenced claims of said precedent) would be very helpful.Wilburg22 - The insufferable potato! (Click here for my talk page!) 13:46, 9 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
