A note regarding plagiarism

[edit]

Please be aware that this article published on November 2011 by The Telegraph clearly takes some of its information from our article, which had the same material in July of that year. - Sitush (talk) 15:23, 19 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This one from Presidency College is also problematic. The Wayback Machine shows it being available on their website in February 2012 but not earlier. It was already in our article before then. Of course, Wayback may have just not crawled the Presidency site prior to that date and in that case we may well be in breach of their copyright. - Sitush (talk) 15:29, 19 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Here it is written that Abhijit Banerjee is by born Marathi. But this is not true. He was born in Mumbai but he is a Bengali by birth. His father was a prominent Bengali teacher. Just because his birth place was Mumbai, It doesn't mean he is Marathi. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sm89am (talkcontribs) 15:35, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Abhijit Benerjee is not from Marathi origin. He belongs to a bengali family. He was born in Mumbai but, he is Bengali by birth Tapabrata2706 (talk) 18:29, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Exactly he is a bengali who has no connention whatsoever with marathi! who has edited this? Abhijeet Banerjee is a pure bengali even his mother is Nirmala banerjee who doesnt speak a word of marathi Abhik69 (talk) 06:49, 19 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Research

[edit]

i've added a paragraph about his work, under 'Career'. I have tried to explain his approach in a simple manner. I don't know BLP fully, so can someone rewrite this in a more encyclopaedic tone? Also, does anyone have more references to his work (other than his lab's website)? --Jose Mathew (talk) 15:49, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

His native name should be in Bengali not hindi. 2601:189:8201:4142:E48D:5474:48D7:76AA (talk) 04:01, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I believe the convention is that in such cases, IPA should be used to prevent language warring. --Jose Mathew (talk) 04:46, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Added name in IPA based on Bengali alphabet. However, I am not a Bengali speaker, so can someone please cross-check if this is correct. Also, cn anyone find an audio recording? --Jose Mathew (talk) 05:35, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Parents's religion is not important

[edit]

User @Prat1212 is undoing my changes to remove the parents's religion. It is not important and seems out of place being mentioned before their professional qualifications.

Please put your reason for including this information here before undoing the changes again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Charsikid (talkcontribs) 12:06, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please add his religion Anupphys (talk) 20:55, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

List of Hindu Nobel Laureate

[edit]

I think, there should have a list of Hindu Nobel Laureates in Wikipedia just like Christian Nobel Laureates or Muslim Nobel Laureates Anupphys (talk) 21:00, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

First, you have not established that he follows the Hindu religion, still. Second, this isn't really the place to request that. Please do so at requested articles. El_C 21:05, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
