Alleged death of abu al-hussein

[edit]

As of now the death of Abu Al-Hussein is not confirmed by any independent source. US officials said that they have no knowledge of it. [1]https://twitter.com/jseldin/status/1653040434866782210

"Only one way to know for sure if Turkey has killed Islamic State leader Abu al-Husayn al-Husayni al-Qurashi...wait to see if the Islamic State itself confirms the death in an audio release." (Aymenn j al tamimi) [2]https://twitter.com/ajaltamimi/status/1652930915872456705

Turkey also said they arrested the prior leader of IS, which ended up being incorrect. Will wait to see what the USG says. Important to remember that the Turkish election is in a couple of weeks. (Aaaron y zelin) [3]https://twitter.com/azelin/status/1652773910516047873

Would be best to wait to see if others also confirm this, especially IS itself. Turkey was previously wrong about having detained the prior caliph (Caleb weiss)[4]https://twitter.com/caleb_weiss7/status/1652799380015939590

Another important thread about the turkish claim is below:

Above are some of views of some of exp[erts on security regarding turkish claim. I sugest that we should treat the turkish claim as "alleged" instead of confirmed. Sam6897 (talk) 17:47, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not the fist time that Turkey do unconfirmed claims Bahoz Erdal the lede should be changed to alive. Shadow4dark (talk) 19:39, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
